What is Web+CMS?
Web+CMS is a Content Management System that supports you in the maintenance and
management work of your websites. The creation of content (texts, pictures,
links) of the website can be delegated to any author in the company.
The control of the document hierarchy and the page layout remains with the
webmaster. This ensures that the company's corporate design
is used universally. Because of a special layout templates, the webmaster
is able to decide which parts of the page are changeable by the authors.
The authors do not need to be taught in HTML. Drafts and contents are
saved separately and can be worked with separately without any conflicts.
The website can only be published after the release of the layout templates
and its contents. The system supports several languages, so that the use
in multinational companies is possible. The system is oriented on documents
without the need for monolithic database. Therefore it is extremely open
and flexible and allows a seemless integration with other applications.
The features:
- Possibility of extensive layout rearrangement, anytime without the
need of
changing the software. - Simple construction of HTML templates, by means of normal author tools (e.g. FrontPage, PageMill, HoTMetaL, simple text editor).
- No complex relational database system.
- All information that are involved are available anytime without database access.
- Does not depend on a certain web server (Apache, Microsoft IIS, etc.).
- Uses the user management of the operating system (NT or Unix), therefore it is easier for the system administrator to supervise the system.
- Allows precise and flexible framework for the authors.
- Final documents are generated during the transfer (cold server to hot server) Therefore the performance of the hot servers is not disturbed by the generation of documents.
- The system supports several languages. The system can process multibyte character sets and Unicode, (e.g. Japanese).
- Smooth integration with other documents of the web site, which can be generated with other tools (e.g. ASP, PHP, etc.).
